Overconfidence - A Matter of Education?

The study explores how education influences overconfidence in uncertain situations, utilizing a challenging questionnaire designed to exceed average student knowledge. With 535 participants from Southern Germany, known for its high-ranking educational system, the research assesses whether individuals recognize their lack of knowledge and respond within a broad confidence range to meet a 90% accuracy goal. The findings reveal notable differences in accuracy and overconfidence levels across various educational institutions, providing a stochastic proof of the relationship between education and confidence.
