Set in 1957, the narrative follows Henny Harald Hansen, the first Danish female anthropologist, as she embarks on an archaeological expedition in Northern Iraq. Initially tasked with ethnological studies, her connections with local sheiks and her interpreter's family grant her unprecedented access to Kurdish homes.
