The thesis explores the role of communication strategies in language learning, inspired by an internship experience in an 8th-grade English class. It highlights the limitations of traditional grading methods that penalize incorrect vocabulary responses, even when they demonstrate creativity or communicative intent. The author argues for a more nuanced approach to assessing language skills, emphasizing the importance of effective communication over strict adherence to correct vocabulary. This work contributes to the understanding of how learners can express themselves in innovative ways.
