Educated at prestigious institutions like Harvard, he engaged with major social thinkers of his era. As a founding member of the NAACP and its magazine editor, he played a crucial role in advocating for civil rights. Du Bois also taught at Wilberforce and Atlanta Universities and chaired the Peace Information Center. In his later years, he moved to Ghana to contribute to the Encyclopedia Africana.
