Frankau, recognizing the historical value of Mesmer's original text, sought a skilled translator, ultimately engaging Captain V. R. Myers. Myers' translation captures the essence of the eighteenth-century French text, preserving the meanings of terms like "mesmeric" and "mesmerism," which remain relevant today, highlighting Mesmer's lasting impact on the field.
