Duchess of Aquitaine

Set in the twelfth century, the story follows Eleanor, the intelligent and strong-willed daughter of the duke of Aquitaine. Despite her father's belief in her capabilities, society views her as a mere girl unfit to inherit the dukedom. As her father bequeaths her valuable provinces, she becomes a target for ambitious barons intent on seizing her inheritance. The narrative explores themes of gender, power, and the challenges Eleanor faces in a world dominated by men.
