Ex-Ante Evaluation of a New Policy Instrument. Carbon Contracts for Difference in Energy-Intensive Industries

Focusing on the feasibility of Carbon Contracts for Difference (CCfDs), this thesis evaluates their effectiveness compared to other environmental policy instruments. It analyzes industry and policy publications to assess CCfDs using specific evaluation criteria. The study identifies key design elements necessary for the successful implementation of CCfDs, offering insights into how these contracts can be structured to enhance their impact on environmental policy.
