Keir Hardie's Creed

Keir Hardie viewed Socialism as the contemporary embodiment of Christianity, driven by his experiences of poverty and oppression. He dedicated his life to advocating for justice, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of figures, including Jesus, Robert Burns, and Karl Marx. Central to his beliefs was the notion of sacred human solidarity. This study explores the intersection of labour history and religious history, highlighting how Hardie's convictions were shaped by both social justice and spiritual principles.
