Special emphasis is given to his seminal ideas concerning scope and method; the terms "Arbeitskraft" and "Mehrwert" and the issue of equal exchange or unequal exchange; the description of the circulation of commodities and the circulation of money; the process of the transformation of surplus value into capital; the elucidation of value theory and price theory; the linkage between production, exchange and the size of the market; the critique of James Mill, Ricardo, John Stuart Mill, Bastiat, Proudhon; the causes of gold flows and their effects on price levels and exchange rates; and finally, an elaboration of his views concerning the dialectics of the evolution of capitalism.
