Light hearted anecdotes relating to situations experienced in a thirty year career travelling the world as a salesman in the textile industry. The book describes how the author became involved, more by chance than design, in the the export trade and contains stories relating to typical situations in which he found himself over the period from 1967 to 2001. He worked for a number of major textile manufacturers in the UK and Germany and occupied a number of positions, ranging from humble trainee salesman to Export Sales Manager, Sales Director and Project Manager within the various companies in which he was employed. His experience ranged from visiting Jewish small garment manufactures in Vienna to sell a few meters of clothing interlining to negotiating major design and manufacturing know-how agreements in countries such as India, Japan, Australia and Indonesia, as well as the project management of a new UK manufacturing facility employing 80 people for his last German employer. The anecdotes related are stories which the author used when, after retirement, giving lessons in Business English to senior executives in leading German companies such as Bertelsmann Media International, Claas Agricultural Machinery and Miele of washing and dishwasher fame. The participants in these lessons frequently found the stories amusing and suggested they be published and made available to a wider audience.
