Cultivator

The artist, sculptor and painter Thomas Schönauer creates extraordinary stainless steel sculptures, which he calls „Cultivator“, as the ideal form for connecting space and surface, i. e. 3D and 2D, creating a coherent whole for public and private space. They are reminiscent of agricultural implements for breaking up the soil or smoothing the plow furrow, the ›Egge‹ - and the English word for Egge is the »cultivator«. He works with highly specialized companies, such as the Siegen-based company Jünger Bödenpresswerk. In this illustrated book, colleagues have their say, comrades-in-arms who discuss the artistic as well as the economic process with him. At the same time, the artistic development process is documented in images and text, so that the reader can literally get an idea of ​​the complex work of this exceptional artist.
